nodd Consent helps your website get ready for India’s new privacy law, the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act. The main rules start on 13 May 2027.
This plugin works together with nodd.in, a free website where you:
- write your privacy notice by answering a few simple questions about your business,
- get a ready-made privacy page for your customers,
- see every choice your visitors make on the banner, and download it whenever you need it.
The plugin connects your WordPress or WooCommerce site to your nodd.in account. Once connected:
- A consent banner appears on your website. It asks visitors before tracking tools run, with clear “Accept all”, “Reject non-essential” and “Choose” buttons.
- Tracking tools wait for a yes. Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook (Meta) Pixel, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity and similar tools only start after the visitor agrees.
- Your “Privacy policy” link points to your nodd.in privacy page, including the link in your footer and at checkout.
- Every choice is saved in your nodd.in dashboard, so you can show who agreed to what, and when.
- Visitors can change their mind any time, using a “Privacy settings” link.
nodd.in is free during early access. No card needed.
How to get started (about 15 minutes)
- Install and activate this plugin.
- Go to nodd.in and click Start free. Sign in with your email address. We send you a code, so there is no password to remember.
- Answer the questions about your business and click Publish version 1 to create your privacy notice.
- In your nodd.in dashboard, open Consent and click Copy site key.
- In WordPress, go to Settings nodd, paste the site key and click Save Changes.
That’s it. Open your website in a private (incognito) window to see the banner.

External services
This plugin connects to the nodd service at https://nodd.in. It does nothing until you enter a site key from your nodd.in account.
- On every page of your website, your visitors’ browsers load the banner (
/w.js) and its settings (your business name and privacy notice version) from nodd.in. When a visitor makes a choice, the banner sends nodd.in a random visitor ID, the notice version and the choices made. nodd.in does not store visitors’ names, email addresses or IP addresses. - On the plugin’s settings page, your website asks nodd.in once whether your site key is connected. Only the site key is sent.

Do I need a nodd.in account?

Yes. The plugin shows your privacy notice and saves your visitors’ choices in your nodd.in account. Creating one is free at https://nodd.in and only needs your email address.

Sign in at https://nodd.in, open Consent from the top menu, and click Copy site key. It is a short name based on your business, like
my-store. -
Which tracking tools does it hold back?

Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Facebook (Meta) Pixel, LinkedIn, TikTok, Hotjar and Microsoft Clarity, when they were added through a WordPress plugin. If someone pasted tracking code directly into your theme, the setup guide at https://nodd.in/docs shows the small change it needs.

How do visitors change their choice later?

After their first choice, a “Privacy settings” button appears on every page. You can also add a link in your footer by putting
